Hey there! I finally figured out how to create a new topic!
I love botany amd indeed my mother has many, but I never really understood her passion until one day at a local grocery store I spotted Venus Flytraps on sale. I just had to have one. I'm a young student living in Toronto, Canada, so I have many other priorities but I thought keeping a VFT would be quite entertaining. I'll leave a few pictures below. Keep in mind that us Torontonians have just finished what looks like a very long and dreary winter.
I read everything on the website but I still have a few questions.
1. I don't have much access to the required water. But I think I do have a Brita water filter somewhere. Would that count as reverse osmosis water? As well I have a few bottles of "Real Canadian Spring Water" would that work as well?
2. I'm thinking of replanting it as it does look a bit squishy. Would styrofoam cups or clear plastic cups work? And since I only have one little guy I was thinking of just digging around for some random dirt to add to what looks like the moss reccommended in the website, (spelgen moss or something? I have horrible memory).
3. As well as can someone take a look at the picture and give me a generalization of how much I should feed it? I was thinking feeding the two biggest traps 2-3 times a week with bugs I can try to catch after school, or some fish food.
Below is a picture of my Venus Flytrap! Any general comments would be great! This is where I plan on keeping it for the time being, or at least during the day.
