Didn't know where else to post this. I recently came across someone selling CP's found on their property (various FL species). I was wondering if that's legal. It seems like it should be, after all it's their yard they could mow it or do whatever else they want. Just seemed strange since poaching is usually the worry and I've never really thought about this type of situation. I guess they could always be lying as well...finding it all on "their" property...

Generally if its growing on your property, you own it and you can do what you want with it. Like Ben said though, if it's a species protected by the endangered species act then it's a bit more complicated.

Just be aware that even though it's legal, members of the CP community may look down on the practice, especially if it's not a prolific species.
