I repot when they start to significantly grow over the edge. But that's not based on science or anything. I'd think best would be to wait until growth slows from being potbound, but honestly mine never slow down for anything except the cold weather. But that method keeps them from getting tangled, and damaged when I move them. Frankly, I'd love to hear a better method more intune with their need for space, but I've found very little info available.

I don't think most carnivorous plants care all that much. They get their nutrients from bugs, the roots are just there to anchor them and get some water, I really don't see crowded roots doing much harm to most carnivorous plants, and most have puny root systems to begin with.
