I went out to check on the little ones yesterday and it seems that somehow a brach of filiformis is in a trap. The trap appears to be in the process of opening. I don't know if it grew of the trap or the wind pushed it into the trap, but I did see several gnats within the trap where the sundew leaf lay. Perhaps the gnats stuck to the sundew which was already in the trap and triggered the trap so that both sundew and trap digested them. Don't know?

I had a similar occurrence today. I think the wind just blew the sundew into the vft and the vft closed on it. Or maybe not, help stop CP on CP violence!!!

What if somehow we grafted VFT traps onto Drosera leaves?
In now way would that work. I believe that they are too different to grow into each other as a single organism. But it is a wonderful idea!

They just have different growth habits, nevermind the fact dionaea grow from rhizomes and most sundews don't. It's like trying to attach/fuse snakes to our feet.

A single gene that causes bioluminiscence isn't that complicated. Fusing plants with different root systems/growth that aren't compatible is in another level
