It almost certainly does. Additionally, I've noticed that if the plant develops traps when it's windy outside, they are more sturdy. If they are growing in a greenhouse or in a sheltered location, the leaves will grow longer and less sturdy and then will fall over in a strong wind or even without any reason.

Also, not every plant looks exactly the same at any given point. That is why it is so important to correctly label a plant and if you aren't 100% sure of its origins, just call it a typical and do NOT sell it as a named plant. Lots of plants can put out a few traps that look like a different plant.

I have several Pink Venuses and looking at several of them side by side they don't look anything alike. Some are solid red. Some are nearly all green. Some are red with green lips... Basically, not even named plants look exactly the same at all times.

But, Matt can attest to the validity of my plants. :)
