Hi all have any of y'all seen this happen before? Just the edges of one new leaf and trap have turned a bright orange. Hoping it's just sunburn but not sure. Sorry for the picture quality but any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

@SundewWolf Thanks for the reply too! No lighting changes as it's been outside for over a month now.

I'm worried it might be a sign that the center of the rhizome is rotting. Normally if a leaf starts turning yellowish in color, that's an indication that there is some rot happening at the center of the crown.

The moss looks pretty damp too and the center of the rhizome looks like it might have some blackening or browning as well, but it's hard to see because the photo is a bit grainy.

If it is crown rot, the plant will need to be uprooted and cleaned and then repotted.

@Matt Sorry I'm at work so I will post another picture up in about 6 hours to confirm it. I was away from home a lot this weekend and the temperature was around 90 so I filled the saucer up higher than I usually would. I do have a picture from last week that I attached with a top down view if it's helpful. I really appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions btw.

Looks like it's been kept too wet and it's not getting enough direct sunlight. The newly forming leaves are quite long and wide and the traps are small, which is indicative of lack of light.

You say you're growing it outside, so that's good, but how much direct sunlight is the plant receiving?

@Matt I'm growing it under my 2 story tall porch facing west and it's probably getting around 4 hours of direct afternoon/evening sunlight each day. I was worried about the roots overheating and thought that would be a happy medium. I guess I'll need to find a new spot for him. It's been putting out very large traps for the most part.

Hey Matt here are a few pictures. I had one side turned to the wall without rotating it for a couple weeks and that side is definitely struggling more. I started rotating it every couple of days about 2 weeks ago.

In those photos, the plant looks good to me. It could use a bit more light, but the new traps do look pretty large, which indicates that it's getting sufficient light.

The leaf that's turning orange looks like it may be just an old leaf that formed before the plant was growing outdoors or when it was getting less light. In any case, it seems to be localized to only that leaf and the new growth looks pretty good, so I don't think there's anything to worry about there.

Oh man what a relief! Thanks so much for going out of your way to help me out with this. I'll try to get him a little more light too.
