How do you destroy these little punks? Eating my plantlets! Thanks.

Unfortunately I have no idea how to tackle fungus gnat larvae except by repotting with a layer of sphagnum moss on the top... But I wanted to express my sympathies because I, too, have lost many plantlets to these curious critters.

I had lots of fungus gnat worms in my Sanseveria pots. The only way I got rid of them was through every single mean I could think of:

• - Added a layer of diatomaceous earth to cut up any burrowing bugs (http://amzn.to/12bnSWP),
  - Insects spikes (http://amzn.to/1vMO4SN) this option is NOT for carnivorous plants,
  - Neem oil soak of the entire soil (http://amzn.to/1tbF4aa), which was also sprayed on the surface in a low concentration every day until the problem reduced significantly.
  - I also used sticky traps as an indicator to the population levels (http://amzn.to/1yksh4f).

And this is just for fungus gnats! I barely see them anymore. Maybe once a month, they eventually get eaten by a Ping or some other plant.

Mosquito dunks will work to get rid of fungus gnats.
