This is my Alien that I was lucky to get on ebay back in February for a steal!
It's on the small side, but growing quickly, and has already kicked out a division!
The division is sort of hard to see in the photos but it's there in the back to the left.
And just for fun I shot a pic of a baby tree frog that was perched on the stalk of one of my pitcher plant flowers.
Also included a close shot of my Jaws

I've seen many tree frogs take shelter inside my pitcher plants during the heat of the day and crawl out with ease in the evening. Those sticky little toes work so well.

I have seen similar tree frogs here in Illinois. I made the mistake of letting it go in my back yard, and during the night it was croaking like crazy, I couldn't sleep.

BTW nice alien! I want to get one! (who doesn't? lol) I'm wondering if anyone has tried cross pollination with an alien to see if the elongated trap trait passes on.

I live near a wooded wet land and there are thousands of tree frogs and bul frogs making noise all spring and summer

I know there's a similar trap to alien, I think it's called jaws smiley

To me they are almost indistinguishable in terms of appearance. There are slight differences, but nothing significant. But Jaws Smiley is a slower, weaker grower for us. For that reason I much prefer Alien.

Ah, see now if it's a much slower grower then I'd have to change my opinion

The reason I like jaws smiley better is because it seems to color up easier/better than alien

Really? I haven't noticed that since I've been growing them. They both are very similar for me in terms of coloration. Do you grow both of them? If so, how long have you had them?

No, again as I said it seems to color up better but that's just based on pictures I've seen, in all the pictures of JS there's usually a deep red interior, whereas alien seems greener in the pictures online, but since you grow them both, I'll have to defer to your knowledge and experience with them
