ok i bought venus fly trap seeds. this is my first time trying to grow theses plants. i put peat moss in a cup, then i used distilled water to wet the peat moss, spreaded the seeds over the peat moss, covered the cup with plastic wrap and punched holes in the plastic and put it in a window sill inside. the window gets sun for more than 6 hours. i bought the seeds one and a half to two months back and all i have is one little leaf. my tomato seeds are grown to the point i can seperate the plants. ( i throw a bunch of seed in one pot and seperate as they get big) i was told to put some of the seed in the fridge for 8 weeks. i did that as well as just planted others. one site told me to put them in the cold others said not to. so do i? how long does the seeds take to make any kind of plant to come up? the one little leaf i have i think may be a weed but i cant tell. i bought the peat moss from menards so i dont know if it was quality or not.

so basicly how long does it take for the venus to show that it is growing from a seed?
did i plant it wrong?
any suggestions?
does anyone have any seeds that they know are good? i think mine are bad because i have seen no progress.

I didn't see anything that you wrote in your first post that I would call "wrong" but you don't mention the brand of peat moss nor the type of water you're using.

The things that are most commonly done incorrectly are:
1) Using Miracle-Gro (enriched) brand peat moss
2) Watering with tap water
3) Keeping the cover on in direct sunlight and cooking the seeds
4) Not keeping the seeds warm or humid enough to make germination happen quickly
