Negative. Correct genus, wrong species.

New clue: It was discovered 34 years before the genus was recognized as being a new one.

Negative, but getting warmer. Bahiensis was discovered in 1992, and the genus was finally recognized in 2000.

Recap:
South America, specifically Brazil.
I think it looks like a fuzzy turd. (Most of this genus does)
First one discovered of this genus, 34 years before it was recognized as a separate genus.
Only 7 known species of this carnivorous plant.
Stems and leaves are typically at or below soil level.
New:
Perhaps the smallest of its genus.
Found in the state of Goiás of Brazil.

Correct!
I was typing a recap and adding new clues when you guessed. We crossed in the mail.
Run with it sanguinearocks101.

Take your time, make it good.

Okay, I hope this will be tough enough. It is native to the Philippines and it is named after the island it appears to be endemic to. The seeds I will probably give away are Drosera filiformis "florida red" x self once the flowers open and the seeds ripen.

HOW? Have you hacked my computer? Sorry but I want it to go on for a while if I'm going to give seeds away. Can I have another try at it, I really want it to go on for a while so at least a few people can join in and give it a try.

I swear I have not hacked your computer. I used the clues you gave to do a Google search and that was the first to come up.
Please, go again. I will attempt to resist guessing for a bit, I have chores to do and errands to run anyway.
Sanguinearocks101 called a mulligan and still has the chair.
