I ran up on these at Dollar Tree. Not the heaviest duty but should last 2-3 years. You get to make your on drain holes. $1.25 each. I found some small planters a while back at DT that were basically the size of two of these sat side by side. FWIW…

I've got some pots much similar to those but they are completely smooth going up the sides, without the outward projecting top area. Solid pots and definitely a step-up in quality than the Dollar Tree ones. Though they are made of thin plastic, the depth of the Dollar Tree pots is what attracted me...just under 7" deep!

Ideal size pots, you don't normally find them that deep unless you get tomato pots.

Steve, I don't know if ya'll have Dollar Trees over there, it is a popular chain store over here. They sell "cheap" stuff...at one time everything in them was...a dollar. Eventually that added a few items that were like $2-$5, but 95% of items were $1. Then this inflationary economy marched in and $1.00 raised to $1.25...but it's still called "Dollar Tree". They have a *very* small garden section...mostly made up of small pots. Every time I go into one (with my wife, of course! ) I visit the garden section and the food storage section. I spotted these on the last trip there.

Man, those look pretty good, too. Those are the thicker plastic and not the kind that if you squeeze them they crumple up and make a crackling sound? I did look at them on the website, stuck 30 into the cart, gave enough info to get the shipping cost.... $12.90 worth of pots costs $21 shipping. The good thing is the more pots you order (at least up to 100 of them) the shipping costs remains $21. Pots look pretty good, though! Maybe when I get ready to plant the lower-40 I'll need the half-truckload quantities.

They are good and solid. Shipping does seem to be $21 regardless of what you order. The seed trays they sell are also pretty solid. Not as solid as the $5 heavy duty trays, but better than anything I've ever ordered off of Amazon. They also have 2" pots that are deep and 5.5" pots that are deep. They are all good quality. I bought a case of them last year. I should really see what shipping would be and sell batches of 10 of them.

Yes indeedy, we do have an equivalent shop, over here it's called Poundland. When they first opened everything was a pound, but now it goes a lot higher than that.
Like you I drift over to the generally pretty poorly stocked gardening area, and look at the pots, twine, incredibly badly made tools from China and the other parafinalia (generally tat) that they sell, but they only normally do standard round pots that are too shallow or troughs that snap if you lift them when full of media.
The food storage containers are poor Tupperware copies and they too don't last long enough to be useful.
In the gardening supplies area, I have concluded that you will have to pay more for quality kit, pay more, and buy once as they say.

Hey, Steve. Poundland sounds much like our Dollar Tree...lots of junk but I do find an occasional container I'll try. I agree, though, on quality stuff lasting (lots) longer. I've got some long plastic planters that have been outside for 20+ years...in the sun, in the shade, simply stored in the weather. They look a bit weathered now but still strong. Same with some large plastic pots that I have. Good stuff will last. I use some clear plastic trays for moss and for water trays...one hot summer and you'd better be careful moving them around the next summer or they may fall to pieces! I've found the small black food containers that resemble Tupperware actually do fairly well outside...other than them being black and hot (they definitely will heat the water up here in Alabama!).

We have a hydroponic supply store where I live. They sell very sturdy seedling pots, 3"/4"/5" sizes and nice gallon pots for cheap. The seedling pots are all under 0.40 each and the gallon pots are 0.70 each. They also sell net pots in several sizes. All pots are sold in both black and white. Oddly, no other stores in town carry seedling pots, not even the nurseries.

Wow!!! Those are some good prices and the 1-gallon example looks like it's fairly heavy-duty. The closest hydroponics store to me is about 100 miles away and the website is only showing houseplants.

The business name is A Greener World Hydroponics in Prescott, AZ. I don't think they have an online store, but you can check. Yeah, the prices are very good.

They have a Facebook presence but no online store that I could see. Yep, very good prices, you've got a good supply source there!
