I went to lowes and bought some materials but was also wanted to make sure if this is alright for my venus fly traps

Yes. I grow most of my plants in either peat/perlite or sphagnum moss. I only add sand into the mix for pings or cephs. Anything that needs really good drainage. I have grown most of my plants in straight peat before, with little problem.

What do the plants look like, and where are you located? If you can include a picture of the plant and your set up, perhaps we can spot something.

Sure, i live in middle florida, (not giving my location too specific) and i ordered 25 baby venus fly traps from FTS and they all seem wilted

When did you order them and what is your grow setup? A picture would help. If they are wilted, they may be having trouble getting moisture. Are you using some sort of humidity dome?

i got like 42 or somthing instead of 25 but theyre wilted so im worried.
Im getting my phone ready to take pictures of them

Yeah, I order that a couple of years ago and got around 100. Some of them were really tiny.

That medium is way too dry for the baby plants. Also, they need to be in a humidity dome or plastic bag to help them maintain water. You need to watch for mold and rot, but the plants should be slightly wetter than for established flytraps. Consider that the babies don't have an established root structure to absorb water. Most of the moisture they absorb will be through the leaves, which is why high humidity is key. For babies such as these, I prefer to use peat/perlite topped with a layer of chopped sphagnum. The sphagnum retains water better and the plants seem to absorb it better. Regardless, you need to raise the humidity for those plants.

ok, i watered them yesterday, so i thought theyed be good. ill put sphagnum moss around the babies, and ill put plastic bags over them. Thanks alot for the help!
