Hello,

I have some typicals I rescued that were doing great but now something seems to be killing them faster than they can grow. They open up, slowly turn black and die. It looks like damage from some kind of pest bit when I stare for 10 minutes or so, nothing is moving. I also have a DCXL purchased from flytrapstore that is in fairly close proximity that also appears to now being damaged by same pests? They ate the eye lashes off two traps before they opened and now they are dying back. Same thing, can't see anything moving. Photos below. Any help identifying my problem would be much appreciated. TYIA!

That looks more like mineral burn or rot to me. What are they potted in, how much light so they get, and what type of water are you using? Also, how much water do they get?

I'm pretty versed in flytrap care, been growing them for years. It's a peat, perlite and silica sand mix for the typicals and long fiber sphagnum (that it came in) for the DCXL. Only distilled water. I tray water but never leave in tray beyond 2 days. Let them dry out a bit before watering. We had our first rain in like 2 months last night, which is why they appear wet. I've lost traps in the past because of crown rot so I'm very careful about too much water. All my other traps are doing great in identical conditions. There is definitely something happening to these two that is not affecting the others. They get probably 9 to 10 hours of direct sun outside everyday.
