Mine arrived today! So I got the package, are the TINY tiny tiny little, black things that are like microscopic, the seeds, or is it the only few semi big other materials in there? thanks, I can't wait to get them sowed! :)

That sounds like the millions tiny very very very tiny, almost microscopic seeds of droseras! :D
The big material is probably the petals, and the coat that protected the seeds before they rippen, usually drosera seeds germinate fast.
Good luck!

Thanks I put them in my terrarium, enclosed in a baggy with holes (since the terrarium is only about 70 degrees and 60% humidity) hopefully it will get a little more warm there and more humid! Can't wait for them to germinate, although I didn't plant them all, I put some in the refridgerator.

Depending on the specie you might not need stratification, if it is a tropical, or subtropical, they don't need stratification, if it is a temperate 3 weeks in stratification will work, best put them 2 months, but that's probably too long, and one wants them to germinate fast! ;)
That sounds like a good set-p, lots of humidity, and temps of 70F, that's how mines germinated during winter.
again good luck with them! :)

dave, the mini capensis should germinate fine without any strat, just make sure the soil doesnt dry out.

when i tested the seed viability a few mth back i had a carpet of green seedlings within a couple of weeks, missed watering for one day and it dried out under lights, all the plants died :(

moist and humid, and you'll have dozens of capensis in no time.

the seeds look like ground black pepper, very small.. when you decided to try the last bunch open the bag right out and spray it with water to wash all the seed off.

Glenn, did you water them from the bottom every day? I did also dry out most of my seedlings by forgetting to water, and sometimes it lost it's moistness :(. I'll have to start watering a little more

I'll make sure to water plenty! I moved them out of the terrarium and put them on top of a heat pad. :) hope it works well.
