I have no way of getting pure water until shops open on Monday! Would deionised water be better than tap until then? Advice, tips and constructive criticism greatly appreciated.

What's your location?
You can Google your local municipal water supply TDS unless you get you get your water from a well.

Here are some TDS numbers of various locations: tds-total-dissolved-solids-of-water-in- ... t3788.html

De-ionized water should be OK unless it has minerals added to it after DI.
