Changed my flytrap setup so that they are all in 20 oz styrofoam cups (I like how it looks!)

Do you have enough maroon monsters? LoL

Do you top with sand or just use a very sand heavy mix?

I got quite a few of them last year from a random batch of flytraps, Its an awesome plant :)

I use a 50/50 mix of sand and sphagnum; the reason for the sand on top is because I usually drain out the soil with a mister right after repotting a flytrap, which causes sand to float to the top.

I agree about the FTS MM's.

The ones I got from you are doing pretty great. I potted the two larger divisions in 50/50 mix and there were a pair of little divisions that I put in 100% LFS to see how they'd like it and so far so good.

It really is a great red VFT.

I'm glad they are growing well for you and that you enjoy them, parker, they should grow quite a bit during the growing season. I have some medium sized ones that are similar to the ones I sent you that are already on their way to adulthood :)

FTS Maroon Monster grows so amazingly fast it's ridiculous!

Out of all the giants I recently got from the FTS the Maroon monster is my fav :)

It's one of my favorite giant flytraps as well. It has great coloration, vigorous growth, and big traps :)
