i have a purple pitcher plant that I have in the sun all day and the moss Is wet but is turning black Is that to much heat or too much water :? :shock: :shock: :?

Could be algae. A lot of my pots with a very dense top layer of LFS start turning black/very dark green on top. I've noticed that just beneath that it's a normal LFS color which leads me to believe it's some algae/fungus. I've never noticed it causing any problems though.

To be safe I've started using less dense top coats, just enough to keep the rain from splashing up the soil.
