Hi, my Sarracenia Purpurea Heterophylla is having root rot. What can I do to save it?

Uproot and cut off all the rotten parts of the rhizome, then repot. Other than that, I don't think there's much you can do.

It's possible, I've grown Sarrs from less, and that's in better shape than many of mine were. Pot it up and find out.

I did it. Here it is. Just have to isolate the sick plant from the others. This was in a Sarracenia Purpurea and sundew bog garden

I just read a post from Mike Wang that heterophylla purps are prone to root rot. You will probably want to keep it separate and manage the water more closely. I just moved my two to the "dry" tray.

After trimming off the dead part of the rhizome, I give the cut end a good spray of BioAdvanced 3-in-1 Insect, Disease & Mite Control. I've found that it does a good job of discouraging the rot from returning.

All we can do is give it our best shots. My sympathies. There will be a memorial service at a later date for friends and family.
