Below is an interesting B52 cross seedling I just discovered. Seems to have some nice looking cilia. The trap pictured is about 1/2 inch in size...

Looks promising Jason!! It's not too common for flytraps in vitro to grow large traps (even 1/2 inch in size), so that's a good sign!

It's really hard to tell what you'll get though until the plant is potted out and has been growing ex vitro for a while. And even after a couple of months, it's hard to know for sure exactly what the growing characteristics are, but you should be able to know what kind of cilia (the part that looks interesting on that plant) it will have during the active growing season (assuming you start it under lights or pot it out during the spring or summer) and get an idea of trap size (should be pretty large on that guy). I find that it really takes a full year to know the plant's growing characteristics though. Sometimes they'll grow upright under the lights, but then when you move them out to the greenhouse, they grow low to the ground.

Keep us posted once you pot it out :)

Jason,

Nice ! If the cilia keeps its characteristics, then call it a Giant 'Fleur-de-lis' because that's the decorative art it looks like.

I was actually just referring to the seedling's atypical cilia. The trap is now about 1/2 inch in size, and is really showing the cilia's characteristics.

Do the Cilia refer to the part of the head that is modified, and looks like spike all along the trap? (don't laugh at me)
