I don't know how it was grown before, but I definitely will keep that in mind. It's in mostly peat right now, I'm planning on re-potting into a big shallow pot of LFSM anyway at the beginning of spring, so I can take your advice and see how the roots look when I re-pot it. Thanks for the help!

They use and swear by cat litter pans

It also says (on that care sheet and in other places) that darlingtonia require cool nights like Cephalotus? If it's true, I probably can't grow the plant outside.
