Here's my light, also, what are those black dots? They look like buttons. Is this a good enough light to grow my plants indoors? I don't like to keep them outside because we have a bunch of feral cats that like to dig everything up. They've been going hard at my bulbs lately. What percentage do you recommend for the light to be on? There's drosera, sarracenia, vft, and a nepenthes.

I would recommend a DLI around 40-50 with it for sarr and flytraps. Around 20-30dli for neps should be sufficient. Thats around 1,000 PPFD or higher for a 12 hour lighting period for a 40-50 DLI.

If you want to cut it in half and keep the lights on for 6 hours you need to increase the PPFD intensity to 2,000 PPFD.

That's a nice (and strong) light! I'm no lighting guru, but I have the smaller XS1000 version and have been so pleased with it that I purchased another one. If you haven't already, you might want to download the Photone app for your smart phone. It's a light meter. You will need to purchase the add-on for full-spectrum LED lights...around $5, I think. And, don't forget to make the simple diffuser for the camera. It will help you with adjusting the height and/or power-level of the light.

As for the pots that you asked about, the two black "buttons"...I wouldn't mess with them if I didn't know what I was really doing (and I don't ). They are measurements of light specifically for plants, instead of measuring in lumens or Lux.

I would start at 16inches above the table/tray area at a power of 70%.

Judging by the appearance and wattage I think the Largest suggested coverage for that light is 2x4'. However that comes at the price of coverage uniformity.

I am using a light with a similar footprint and wattage to cover a ~2x3' area.

In my experience 1000 ppfd is simply over kill. 500-300 is what one should shoot for without killing the electric bill.

Below are a few shots of some plants in my grow tent.

The Difloras are sitting at 270 ppfd.

The CCCP Code Red getting drowned by drosera is sitting around 520 ppfd.
