was aiming for 6 inches + but 13cm is the deepest i can find where i live at the moment (there is a garden centre opening at the end of the month though so i could have a look there?) but is 13cm deep good enough?

Nice size. I was thinking these would be great but then I got to thinking about the black color. But, Scotland is a LOT cooler than south Alabama so they might even help keeping the rootball warm. The price isn't as cheap as the crumply pots that collapse when you look at them but not excessively prices...you get what you pay for, eh? I like the recessed drain holes, too, they should help with keeping the watering and drainage working so when the pot is sitting flat on the surface of the water tray the drain holes aren't blocked.

Not having recessed drain holes is easy to fix. Just drill a few holes along the lower edge of the pot.
