I have kept my vft’s outside …this one has survived for 14 years…has survived -6c unprotected and -8 with a mostly covered with an old hot water tank insulation cover…they have amazing resilience ….49°31'10”N. 124.66°W….

They're hardy little buggers! The snow helps, I'd imagine- it's a good insulator.

Are they in a deep fish tank? That's an interesting setup.
