I have 4 Thanksgiving cacti:
  • Pink has already popped 4 flowers
  • White has buds on the way
  • Red/fuchsia has one tiny bud (on a very small plant)
  • Peach is debating whether or not to bloom

My Red/Fuchsia started off as a 3-clade piece that fell off the mother plant in the grocery store. It was lying on the floor, waiting to either be stepped on or swept up and thrown out. I picked it up and made it my shopping bonus for the day. It now has 13 clades, and upon closer look, half a dozen flower buds.

I also took a closer look at Peach, and she has a bunch of very small flower buds. I guess she didn't want to jump the gun like Pink did.

I got her at Lowe's for $5 last year. She's in a south-facing window, but the blinds are angled so that only some thin strips of morning sun get through. Otherwise, it's bright, indirect light reflecting off the blinds' white slats.

Thank you! I am a novice at the Thanksgiving cactus scene. Just want her to be healthy Image

Wow! Absolutely gorgeous
I heard depending on age some won't bloom for a couple of years. Maybe I'll get lucky and see some this year. Who knows?

My red/fuchsia plant was just 3 clades back in January, and it has flower buds now. I wasn't expecting to see that in such a short period of time.

Do you fertilize it year round? I have Miracle-Gro for succulents and I use it with some water. But apparently it's getting ready to grow buds and I am unsure how to continue. Sorry for all the questions
