Did a lizard/anole escape by shedding its skin? Or did a fragment of wind-borne snake skin land on this capensis? Or...?

Lizards shed in pieces, not in whole body sheds.

Looks like a small snake shed, I think I can make out ventral scales and eyecaps in the second picture. Where do you live? If in the US, I would guess something along the lines of a Dekay's Brown Snake or a Smooth/Rough Earthsnake.

It could've been where an alien shedded it's skin. I talked to this guy in a waiting room at the hospital one night and he seemed to know what he was talking about...he was a general in the CIA but didn't like folks to know it. :ugeek:

I'm in the central part of Florida. We do have a lot of snakes here. Lately I have seen some Brahminy blind snakes ( I guess they come out this time of year), which would kind of fit your description above.
