hello peeps, just a simple thread discussing the rate of growth for our venus flytraps. I was prompted by my curiosity becase my lowes rescue, currently the only respectable sized flytrap, has grown around 5 new traps and 2 more growth points from nothing but rhizome in a span of about a month and half. what are your flytrap's specs?

my lowes flytrap hasnt done squat except 1 new trap in a month where my lowes purple pitcher has had 9 new pitchers in same time. one of my 2 walmart flytraps has had like 9 new traps and a flower stalk (i cut few days ago and planted) and the other has grown 4 new traps but never grown a stalk. my new akai ryu from flytrapstore (thanks again matt n leah) has already grown 3 new traps on the young adult and the 2 starters have grown 2 new each.... wooo what a mouthfull lol

I made a leaf pulling three months ago and I am holding the plant by the old leaf. I was surprised that the root had grown an inch and a half.

Typicals like you get at Lowe's or any consumer store seem to be incredibly vigorous. I bought an adult b52 online and also bought two pots of typicals at a local garden center. I repotted all the plants right away and threw them right out in the sun. The B52's are very slowly recovering, I'm surprised they aren't dead yet. The typicals however lost all the big traps and started crapping out new ones immediately, each plant has 3-6 new leafs coming up and they are coming up fast.
