Greetings everybody!
I have been searching for good forums about Sarracenia breeding, and I was thrilled and very lucky finding this forum. It is very useful to see suggestions and helpfull advices.
I am cherishing Sarracenia Oreophila for over a 8 mounths, and she was growing very well. In spring I transplanted my Sarracenia from smaller flowerpot to a larger flower pot. It still was continuing to make a progress but eventually something weird started to happen.
First, my plant doesnt want to expand all over the flowerpot, yes it grows, but her sprout (pitchers) are just growing in the same bush as others, so bigger pitchers are suffocating smaller ones, and when smaller succeed to grow they usually have some strange shape, because they are trying to break through over older. Why new pitchers don't want to expand over flowerpot? Should I prune old ones, to let new grow?
Second thing is, as this summer is pretty much hot 35 to 40 degrees, they beggined to dry, and some of them started to get stains (spots) interior like they are drying, and I am watering them regularry every day in evenings with distilled water. They are exposed to sun from 9am to 4pm and they were healthy until now.
Another thing is that when my Sarracenia swallow a bigger insect, like bee for example, it won't digest it properly and beggins to dry. I don't know why but it's like a bug suffocate my plant to grow. Bug starting to digest turn in like a mud, but pitcher start to die.
Do You have any suggestions? Thank you very much and I am really sorry for my bad english. I will make shure to put pictures as soon as I can, but if anyone have similar experience please share here, so I can help my plant.
