There are some plants that are so beautiful, you have to grow them, even if they're not carnivorous. :)
My non-carnivorous jewel is the Passionflower.

My Passionflower is blooming.
This plant has been growing outside for 30 years.
It's next to the foundation of my house, giving it a tolerable micro-climate.
Normally, this plant won't survive as far North as Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

It's the Cape Sundew of Passifloras, but I like it.
Each flower is 3 to 4 inches in diameter.

Good growing,
Mike

The fruit is delicious but a bit gross.

They grow all over the place here. In schools, in gardens, in universities, they even commonly grow on electricity wires!

Yes, it is a tropical plant.
I was told that the species I grow comes from Hawaii.
Normally my location is too cold to grow this but the foundation of the house leaks enough warmth to keep the roots/stolons alive over Winter.

It is a rapid growing vine. It will come out of the ground and grow 10 - 20 feet over the course of Milwaukee's short growing season.

Good growing,
Mike

I love them but the only way to grow it here is either a greenhouse or inside. Neither are an option right now.
