I received some leaf and root cuttings about a month ago.
I put them in distilled water with some living Sphagnum for good luck.
The leaf cuttings turned Brown pretty quick and I was not very optimistic about them.
But today, I spied a Green etiolated leaf peeking out from the bottom of one of the Brown leaves.
It budded on the downward facing side and just now became visible. I tried to get it out in the open a little more and move it into better lighting conditions.

The moral of the story is this:
Never give up on your cuttings until they rot and dissolve completely into a Grey blob of gelatinous goo! Even if they look dead, there is still hope!
All it takes is one living cell to get the process started.

The parent plant belongs to PetroleumJunkie412 (Thanks Shawn!) and it is a seed-grown Drosera capensis (Giant x Self) This one was freakishly large compared to all its siblings, and is under consideration for cultivar status.

Good growing,
Mike

I can vouch for this as well! When I won the big pink giveaway from David, the first shipment never showed up so he sent a second one. Well the second one came while I was gone. It sat in my dark grey mailbox for 2 full days of over 100 outside. It did not look good at all, but it was my fault. I planted it nevertheless. I now have 4 small big pink. 3 from roots and 1 from a leaf that was still alive.
These plants are crazy
