This bug had a very unfortunate ending...which is awesome...we have way too many of these bugs at our house! :twisted:

looks like perhaps a goldenrod soldier beetle! we have a lot of those around our parts of NC also if so!

These are actually Boxelder bugs! They aren't really harmful at all, but we have millions of them and they are so annoying! They like to land on the front of our house where the sun shines because its warm. We can't even open the front door without at least 10 of the darn things coming in the house with us.

aaah yeah!! looking at the markings on it - way off on the goldenrod soldier!! we have millions of those out around our pond they like the tall grass/weeds we let grow up around the perimeter. cool looking bugs no bother to us here and generally stay away from the house at least!
