Hi all
Here are pictures of my VFTs after just coming out of the fridge 3 days ago. Can you tell i they look alive? Cause to me they look pretty bad. This is my first year trying fridge dormancy and am not sure what my plants should look like. Also,i took them out cause it was in the 50-70 degrees F. range. Now at night it is suppose to get below freezing again. So would it be ok for me to keep my plants outside during the day and bring them in at night when he temps drop below freezing? Thanks for the help.

Hopefully you can see the first picture. It may not be very good.

In the fist pic look like mould are growing...did you check on them every two weeks and spray them with fungicide?

This occurs when the air was not circulated. I suggest you to treat them with fungicide.

I did check on them at least once a week. It is not mold. The stuff on the plants in the first picture is dry LFS. I think they got a lil bit dry in the fridge and that is what is on the plants in the first picture.

Ouhh my bad so if that is not mold they will be fine. But you need to becareful with temperature so it doesnt cause stress to your flytrap. Hope this will help you.

They will usually have a little fungus but a spray of a sulphur based fungicide will take care of it. Just remove and black leaves and introduce them slowly to Sunlight. Acclimate them slow to the Sun. Mine ALWAYS have some fungus on them but it's no trouble.

They can take very brief freezes. I guess you could do that but it would be a PITA eventually. Especially if you have a LOT of them.

I've had VFTs freeze in 2.5 inch pots for multiple days, with temps in the 20s, with no issue. The real issue is plants drying out during a freeze, which is why snow and ice is so beneficial.
