Just asking. If it only makes lower pitchers and makes upper pitchers rarely, does it still vine?

Yes, it vines. Each branch is about 5m long. Though there is rarely upper pitcher, the short tendril still allows it to grab nearby twigs to grow tall.

Basically all neps vine. If you're going to keep them for decades, get small SG ones and plan on getting more space for them at some point. That's my plan, currently have a hamata that's starting to vine in my crazy small grow though

might be a little slower, but they still come. They won't start vining for years though if you get them as a seedling or a small plant.

Here's some pictures of wild N. ampullaria from Singapore. The plants send vines high into the canopy. The older vines are pretty interesting in that they're pretty much just woody stems with a cute rosette of lower pitchers every few meters.
