Seedlings doing horrible!

All have started off great, but they are dying, all of them.
All show this.

The new leaves practically rot before they even unfurl

Here's what thr entire thing looks like.

Tds is safe, Media is lfsm with sand and peat

They do t sit in water in the tray because this o e does t drain.

I see no fungus gnat larva, I'm sure there I there though. The entire tray is taking a beating!

The lights are 14 inches above it, I'll elevate the tray closer, any ideas?

The roots look rotted to me

Are those Drosera finlaysoniana or D. indica? If so, you may be growing them too wet. I grow mine a little drier than most Sundews. I use a well drained medium 3 parts sand to 1 part peatmoss. I put 1/4 inch of water in the tray and let it dry out before refilling.

Other people grow theirs wetter, like normal Sundew culture. They have not experienced problems. The ICPS used to recommend growing them drier and I have always followed that suggestion. It is possible there are different strains of D. finlaysoniana floating around, some with wet tolerance, some without.

That's my two cents worth.

Good growing,
Mike

I am guessing indica
I got a mystery seed pack from ebay for a good grower I am aquainted with.

It could be either or.

But all of them are looking like this, more than just this species.

Not a good pic I know, but you can see the most mature plants of the lot, and that they are clearly yellow

Whose the good grower an eBay? I've been looking for a long time for reliable ebay sources.

Happy Growing,

Don't put to much sand in the mix, you can use a syringe with water for the smaller plants, you don't need to use the water in the tray method all the time. I have the plants almost like your distance under the light, but i use 60 % peat and 40 % perlite, mixed well so i don't have perlite bits on the surface. I don't use sphagnum moss for drosera anymore, because i cannot control well the humidity.

Update, I did attempt to feed them, nothing stuck, so I took out them manually and found 70% roots were mush. I did put The hopefuls in my capensis tray. And yes, too much sand, my god, probably the bottom half was sand.
