looking good, but you dont need peat or sand to make it grow. you could have just placed it in an empty container.

Well non the less it was a fun project for my daughter and I. I guess since they grow in bogs I was trying to simulate more of their natural environment.

I grow all of my moss on some kind of base layer, whether it's peat or dead LFSM. I also don't cover my moss. I had it growing just fine under full sun, other than the red spores. They don't seem to care for full sun.

It looks like a good start though.

My only real question is temps. I have read that they can be completely frozen and continue growing after thawing. I live in the Bay Area California and most days in winter it doesn't go below 40F. Will they be ok?
