Hi.
I have what seems to be a "sawtooth" vft.

Ive had it for about two weeks and it's not growing. No new leaves or healing of yellowish.
The existing traps aren't opening and/or opening fully.

Its beginning of summer (24-35 deg celsius) south africa.

Any advice? .... thanks

Two weeks usually isn't enough time for most VFT's to acclimate, and start growing again. However I see two new traps developing right now.

I would say it's still acclimating.

Could you tell us anything more about the soil it's in? Is there sand mixed in? It also looks really wet to me anyways.

Edit* if it didn't come labeled as a cultivar, it's a typical.

I think the problem is your media. You should repot your dionaea in a more airy soil mix, and water less. Your plant is suffocating right now.

Like boarderlib said, you cannot tag your plant as a cultivar if the information is missing. But you cannot say 'typical'.

For example, a red dionaea with saw tooth, but no tag, cannot be called a red saw tooth, but its clearly not a typical. So its just a lost label clone. At that point, you can give the plant the name you want, like clone A.
