I was wondering this for awhile, because I read that you need to use sterilized water in the cleaning of the plants/seeds. So I was wondering if it is possible to sterilize water and store it in Mason Jars. Also I was wondering if it is possible to sterilize and store your tools in Mason Jars as well, provided you have big enough jars that can fit in a pressure cooker/autoclave.

The water you put into the jars won't be considered sterile if you have to open the sterile jars to put it in (unless you do it in a HEPA-filtered biosafety cabinet). You could just boil the water along with the jars in the autoclave in one step. Then the water would be sterile until you open the jars. But you'd want to make sure the water you use is pure in order to avoid concentrating salts--the autoclave will result in some evaporation, which could concentrate the dissolved solids.

(This is based of my experience working in biotech--I don't have experience culturing plants).
