Yes it can. That is what I water my N. with. If you check out my youtube channel you will see that I water them with it. Also subscribe!!!
Oh yeah if you have plants where they need a mister than use a mister.

I actually built a water mattres (I think that's the name). Increases humidity up to 75% and drops the temperature

The water matress.
I used an Ikea box with a pump inside to have the water pumped up. Thevpump works 24/7.
6 arktic computer fans to blow air.
An WH8040 humidity controller from Ebay to turn the fans on and off.
It uses 4 liters of water a day...

The "water mattress" look similar like an evaporative from air con unit. Looks like the material is cooper?

It is an evaporative cooler, but an impressive DIY project.
