Thanks!

If you are referring to the plant in photo "Ceph 20150821 3.jpg," that's my favorite ceph. And, it happens to be a typical. :)
Really? That's a very nice typical, then! Do you grow your Cephalotus with your highland Nepenthes?

I do grow cephs on the rack next to my highland neps. One shelf has two T5 HO, another shelf has a Kessil H380 LED Grow Light. The cephs grow fine under either light. They also grow fine on a window sill. I've also grown them successfully outside in full sun. And also in a GH. I really think cephs can grow well almost anywhere.

Shelf space on the grow rack is at a premium nowadays. I bought a 2 foot grow rack (instead of a 4 foot rack) thinking it'd be plenty of space, but it was surprising how quickly I ran out of space.

So, I'm thinking about growing more of my cephs on a windowsill because I don't think they really need to be under artificial light. This way, I can free up shelf space for nepenthes.

The first ceph I ever bought was at a club meeting, from a guy who had a table full of great looking cephs. He had told me of how he simply grew them on a windowsill that only got a few hours of sun.

So that got me to start realizing that cephs can be low maintenance.

Almost all of my cephs (including the ones pictured in my grow list) are in one of the following mixes:
2:1 sand and peat.
1:1:1 sand, peat, and fine orchid bark.
I use #12 sand.

That pic I posted today of the new soil is something new I'm trying out on just that one plant.

Thanks!

EDIT: Those 5 small black pots on the windowsill still contain original soil from Native Exotics.
