Twice now since I have had the fly traps and fed them bloodworms the traps won't reopen. The teeth seem to turn black at one spot and the trap eventually dies. I haven't fed more than a third the size of the trap and one trap per plant so I have done plenty of research. Anyone had this problem?

That is strange. How old are these traps you are feeding? If they are new, then something may be wrong, but VFT traps naturally die after closing a few times. If you're feeding them at the end of their life, then death of the traps should be expected.

Thanks for the replies, might be all of the above but mostly I think it's what Matt said. I think they are weak from the supplier so I will try strengthen them up and see.

Be sure your plants thrive before feeding them. Digestion take a lot of energy.

IMHO, feeding your plants should be the last thing you have to worry about :-)

The last thing I worry about is always the one that keeps me up at night ;)
