I stumbled upon a bunch of Nepenthes at my local garden center last night. There were maybe a dozen of them, and they were all from "Little Pot of Horrors." I don't know my Nepenthes that well, but they all looked the same, like pretty common Nepenthes x ventrata ... except for this one, with the crazy hairs. Any ideas on what it is?





In the background of the photo below you can see what all the other plants looked like and THIS TAG SHOULD BE A HUGE HELP!

Looks like N. sanguinea.

It does indeed look like a little sanguinea

I think I've ever seen a sanguinea with hair on top o.o if it is, that's a really cool plant you've got lol

It's so hard to tell when they are so small
A guess is all I had at best. They all look the same until they get some size to me

Cool, thanks gang. I will put it down as "maybe sanguinea" and see what it looks like as it gets bigger.

I'm not an expert on neps in any sense of the word, however it could maybe be a villosa seedling? Those can sometimes look like sanguinea and they have hair on top too

At that size I'm pretty sure you would be able to see the peristome ridges on villosa. Also, if I recall correctly almost much all young Nepenthes have those hairs on the lid.

Nepenthes Lantern?

I think its too small to ID and most small nepenthes have hairs on the lids
