Hi. I'm growing some live sphagnum and this is my first time. It's growing things that are rising up vertically and they look very thin all around, tall-ish, and green. Can you help me with it? I want to know what it is. I'll also try to get pictures soon.

Nutgrass, pull it before it takes over.

Well, i have tons of them in my pot. Pluck it out if you want.

The grass isn't harmful in and of itself. But its root system can get pretty extensive and make separating the moss much harder.

I've had grass growing in a lot of my pots, and I regret that I didn't pull it out at the seedling stage. Get rid of it as soon as you can, otherwise it'll be a real pain.

Please unless you have a specific pot for the plant keep it away from your cp's.That grass grows runners like crazy. Sadly when I was a begginer a growing carnivorous plants I let the grass take over a pot D.Pulchella thinking the grass was a bladderwort. Eventualy the poor little sundews where literaly being choked from sunlight and the drosera died:(
