Can someone please tell me how to test peat moss with a TDS meter? I wanna get more plants for my nephew for his birthday since he loves VFTs. His are doing better than mine. I have a bag of opened peat moss outside, but it is near where we wash our car. It has been there for maybe 2 years at the most, and i dont know if any soap or anything got into the bag. So i want to test it before i order him more plants. If my soil is no good i need to get more before ordering the plants. Oh and what number is to high of a number for soil?
Thanks

get some peat from where you think it may have been contaminated , put and had full in some rainwater in a bucket soak for a hour , then test the water for the reading ,all ways good to know the TDS of your peat any how , make sure it suitable for potting up !!, but soap probably will not show on a TDS reading for soap just rinse the peat several times in rain water should be ok
