Hi,

Does anyone know if its ok to put a whole beta fish pellet into ur flytraps?

It is safe, however the trap wont close, you would have to stimulate the traps my massaging the traps with your figers from the outside. However I wouldn't put just one pellet but several, and another problem you might encounter is how to keep the pellets inside without the oellets falling to the soil.

Humm, maybe, I haven't try that but my guess is that it could work, you might want to try just one pellet and see how the plant responds to it.


I have use them in the past for my droseras, and it works, but you have to make sure not to use a lot as it can cause mold in the traps.

I've used bloodworms, crushed fish pellets, mealworms and many other foods for my Sarracenias, all are fine, as long as the plant is healthy
