Well i've gone against all reasoning and used instant coffee and in the pitchers

It may work, it may not but hey why not try, i have three to six to fertilize (or destroy) So i may as well

Hehehe, but it did work!
I've also succesfully used Instant Coffee on Flytraps with good results.
I may have to try it on my smaller one again and log the results.

i keep reading on the different forums about filtered coffe, and about not using instant, but will using espresso be just as affective as using filtered?

Theoretically, but I'd think espresso could potentially be a little more potent than what would be advisable. However, I've not seen any "do it" or "don't do it" threads regarding espresso in particular.

Neither have i.
seeing as im a begginer id like to get as much info before i kill off my plants

im also a bit confused about the type of water being used, as far as i knew im supposed to use rain/distilled water...
