Very cool all the sprouts showing up and sorry to hear about the mold... that could end badly.
I actually learned today that the nursery down the street provides all the Flytraps to the retail stores in central Florida. Tons of typicals on the cheap.

Clawdius Maximus. He was granted a pardon from the crawfish boil a few months ago. He's grown like a monster.

Day 18

18 sprouts. I've taken to marking them with toothpicks so I don't count the same one twice.

Figured out what the odd green specs are. Aquarium gravel. I found more in the same spot and dug around with a toothpick. As a clump, it was obvious. I guess it was stuck in the upper corner and all the spraying water knocked it down. Itty bitty pieces. I was like, OH!

Day 20

20 sprouts. The two newest are the most tiny yet and very light green.

And this happened. Just over night. Woke up. Two huge VFT had just sprung up. Is it unusual for them to grow this fast?

So I open the box, toss the paper work and unwrap my plant. PlantS. Wow! It looks like I got two. Maybe they split apart while I was unwrapping them. It doesn't look torn apart though. Then, I read the paper. FTS sent me a bonus small seed grown VFT. Thanks, Steve. They look great!

No, that is quite unusual... you may have grown the super rare insta-trap cultivar. They occasionally germinate and grown their first year instantly.

Day 31

The tank has been outside for a few days now. It gets dappled sun in the morning. A little more around mid day and shade in the afternoon til night. So far, so good. Looks like a little sun burn, but no more in the past two days.

25 sprouts. Lost one. Gained two.

Here's a new trap still forming that was only a nub at the end of a leaf when I got it.

Some more would be traps that have come on since planting. And a dog hair. ;)

Think it's planted deep enough?
