My mom bought an Orchid last year, and she has no clue how to care for it, and of course I can't stand watching plants suffer so I wanna help it grow better. Any tips, care basics, etc? Help appreciated in advanced :D

It's a Phalaenopsis. It's quite easy to grow in house and get flower every year. Grow near bright window but avoid direct sun light. Use bark or orchid mixture sold at Home Depot/Low. Dip the pot in tap water for 10 minutes every week. It allows water to wet bark/mixture and it also releases excess fertilizer and unwanted chemicals produced by fungi/bacteria. Dip in weak orchid fertilizer solution for 10 minutes every 2 weeks : 1/8 teaspoon for a gallon of water. It's better to use rain water but tap water is good enough. Adjust pH of water to 5.6 if you can which helps orchid get more nutrient. Phalaenopsis easily gets white mildew when grow in house so check plant every 2 weeks and clean mildew using cotton tip or cotton ball with very weak disk soap. Hope it may help.
