Hello

±4 weeks ago, I planted VFT seeds. I putted the flower pot always behind a window which gets a lot of sun. So it was hot and sunny enough and 10 of the 11 seeds came out. They looked very nice and grew fastly. I needed to put them into another pot becouse the first one became to small. So now I have 6 flower pots with VFT. Since I devided the plants, they are not so beautiful anymore. I filled the flower pot with peat soil and a little white sand.
They're still at the same place; behind a window with a lot of sun. Sometimes i put them outside in the sun. The soil is always humid/wet. From the beginning, I gave them rain water.
Som e of the leave turned out yellow and became dry. I don't know why. But I seed that most of plants have new leaves growing, but they're different of the first ones. I still have no traps and I hope it won't take very long anymore to get traps...

Some pics of my babies, Please share your thoughts:

I am so sorry, but I don't believe those are baby Venus flytraps. :(

What did the seeds look like? Where did you purchase them?

I'm very sorry but those are NOT Venus Flytraps. You might have gotten ripped off if you bought one of those cheap seed packs from eBay.

This is how they would probably look, and it would certainly be at least this small or smaller at 4 weeks. I think most take way longer than 4 weeks to be even slightly visible.

Sorry, but the picture on the packaging is not even a Venus flytrap, it's a Cape sundew. Those seeds you have are not carnivorous.

Flytrap seeds are TINY, teardrop shaped, and shiny black. Your description of the seeds you have sounds like some random plant.

Buy from a reputable seller for best results. There are plenty of sellers in the US, Europe, and the UK.

Sorry Dorien, keep your spirits up. At least you know you can grow random plants in nutrient poor soil. That says a ton for your green thumb! I think you did a great job.

I am sorry you were deceived....I sent you a message....Also your plants look a lot like broccoli seedlings. Broccoli seeds are small and black like vft seeds.

I bought the seeds in a store, so I thought it was okay. It really looks like the broccoli seeds, but mine look less healthy, maybe becaus of lack of nutrition in the soil :p who knows. I'm still thinking about buying VFT seeds or a VFT plant...
