I may have made a mistake, but I did something.
Some of the intermedia seeds we have are about five years old, they were donated when Shadowtski was the seed bank overseer, so I decided that a test might be in order. I took about 100 seeds and stratified them for two months in distilled water in a small tube at 40°F. By the end, something had grown in with them (I didn't sterilize the tube), and they were all stuck together in a slimy mass. I was able to break it up enough to pour half into a couple of Sarracenia pots each, and it looks like I got a 90%+ germination rate.
I said I may have made a mistake, because I'll now probably never get rid of them due to their weedy nature.
So, if you're thinking of getting intermedia as am add-on, go for it. Those seeds still have a lot of life in them.
