i just found out about this dormancy thing and want to know how to do it so my plant doesnt die. can anyone please help me?

you shouldnt need to put it dormant now. did you get yours newly? right now the plant should be exiting dormancy,not beginning. just grow your plant with the tips on this site and then let it go dormant next season.and welcome to flytrap care! PS you can get the instructions for dormancy on this site too go to the FAQ or even just ask for them here on the forum.

Flytraps go dormant naturally in the fall if you grow them in natural sunlight and natural temperatures. If you grow your plant outside or in a greenhouse, which you should definitely try to do, you don't have to do anything to make you plant go dormant.
