Hi all,

I'm considering adding a sundew into my collection but can only afford one. Which species is recommended for a first sundew? I'm interested in ones that show vigorous growth so I sort of narrowed it down to either D. Capensis or D. Nidiformis (unless there are other cheap alternatives).

Thanks in advance!

Drosera capensis is generally the one that is most recommended for beginners. It has reasonably fast growth, is adaptable to a wide range of conditions and can tolerate some of the mistakes that beginners may accidentally make

I agree with fattytuna, another easy one is spatulata, but capensis seems to be the "hardest to kill" cp.
